A phobia is an excessive or unreasonable fear reaction which is linked to an object, place or situation. They develop usually after an incident in which our subconscious wrongly links fear to an object, place or situation. Phobias and fears are common - over 10% of people experience a simple phobia at some time. There are hundreds of phobias and fears e.g. spiders, flying, heights, cats and dogs to, dentists, needles and public speaking. There is nothing we can not develop phobias about.

Manage stress and anxiety
You may be aware that you’ve felt unfocused, irritable maybe edgy or just not right. You are probably suffering from stress or anxiety which affects almost everyone at some point in our lives. When your conscious mind is overloaded with worry or stress, your subconscious sends out signals to your body and physiological changes occur for example, Increased heart rate, blood pressure increases, and immune system functioning may become compromised. Your muscles may feel tense, your energy level drops, your sleep pattern is disrupted and you suffer from an upset stomach. Stress can be good when used to increase performance and help you to reach the limits of your potential. However it becomes bad when in excess and is a huge problem for people at home and in the workplace. Prolonged stress or anxiety can lead to significant health issues such as heart problems, ulcers, stokes and complete mental or physical breakdown.
It is worth noting that it is not the situation that causes stress, it is how you react to it. People are stressed by many different things, someone may be stressed by having to revise for an exam or test, and for others it may be having to give a presentation or having too much work to do. The situation itself does not cause the stress, otherwise everybody would be stressed by the same situation.
Hypnosis will help you by inducing feelings of calmness and relaxation and you will be able to return to these relaxed feelings whenever you experience stress or anxiety. Lying awake trying to fall off to sleep can be miserable. Too tired to do anything else but not tired enough it seems to go to sleep. And the harder you try, the worse it gets. Over time, lack of sleep can lead to serious illness and decreased mental ability.
